Ryan, a global leader in tax services and software, has successfully integrated Granted Consultancy, a renowned UK-based grant funding and consultancy firm, into its brand. This is after Ryan bought the parent firm, Catax, which acquired the firm in January 2023.
Located in Exeter, UK, Granted Consultancy was formed to offer expert advisory services within the grant funding sector. The firm has served all over the UK with its dedicated team of more than 30 professionals, thus delivering solutions tailored to businesses that seek financial support. Catax’s acquisition of Granted Consultancy has thus provided Ryan with the means of taking this final step toward integration.
Founders in 2008 Catax is a company offering capital allowances, research and development tax reliefs and grant funding consultancy. Established on more than £330m secured on its clients’ behalf through technical expertise and strong industry relationships with ICAEW, The Law Society, and IFA. Following the merger with Ryan, the firm’s capabilities in the grant funding and tax relief under Ryan’s global brand have grown.
The integration of Granted Consultancy into Ryan signifies a very important expansion of Ryan’s Innovation Funding services as well as its greater tax service offerings. As part of the new, unified approach, Ryan can now offer a more comprehensive suite of solutions intended to meet the needs of businesses of all sizes. By continuing to service small and medium-sized businesses focused on R&D and innovation, the expanded services by Ryan now also target larger enterprise clients.
Jon C. Sweet, President of Ryan’s European and Asia-Pacific Operations, said about the deal, “Ryan’s Innovation Funding practice has grown from strength to strength. The integration of Granted Consultancy brings all of our funding experts and services together under one brand and allows us to offer a comprehensive suite of funding and tax solutions that benefit companies of all sizes, helping them drive innovation and access a broad range of global opportunities.
The combination provides Ryan to offer services including grant writing consultancy, project management, R&D tax credits, and grant training, thereby enabling the integrated firm to support clients navigate government incentives, rebates, reliefs, and non-dilutive funding opportunities in regions such as Europe, Australia, Canada, and the US.
