PwC has decided to strengthen its position of offering end-to-end technology solutions by appointing Matt Wood as its global commercial technology and innovation lead. Wood’s appointment underscores PwC’s commitment to innovation as well as continuous evolution in global technology capabilities.
In his new role, he will focus on further strengthening PwC’s position as a leader in delivering cutting-edge, client-centric technology solutions across industries. Wood has over 14 years of experience from Amazon Web Services, where he spent his tenure as VP for artificial intelligence. His tenure in AWS was characterized by the drive to AI and Cloud-based technologies that today constitute the backbone of driving digital transformation. Before joining Amazon, Wood earned a PhD in machine learning and completed a post-doctoral fellowship in bioinformatics at Weill-Cornell Medicine in New York, thus enriching the technical basis with which he came into the company.
Looking ahead, Wood’s leadership will be instrumental in continuing the momentum of PwC’s technology strategy, especially in artificial intelligence, data, and cloud technologies.
